In Lahore, the Punjab Cabinet is set to be sworn in today, with Maryam Nawaz retaining the Home Department.
Scheduled for 4 pm at the Governor’s House on Wednesday, the 16-member provincial cabinet’s oath-taking ceremony will see various assignments. Maryam Aurangzeb will oversee Planning, Special Initiatives at the CM Secretariat, and Environment, Forests, and Wildlife. Uzma Bukhari will handle Information, while Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will retain control of the Home Department.
Other appointments include Ashiq Hussain Kirmani as Agriculture Minister, Kazem Pirzada for Irrigation, Imran Nazir for Primary Health, and Khawaja Salman for Specialized Health. Tahir Khalil Sindhu will serve as Human Rights Minister, with Ramesh Arora as the Minority Affairs Minister.
Rana Sikandar Hayat will lead the Education Ministry, Zheeshan Rafiq will oversee Local Government, and Sohaib Bharat will handle Communications and Construction. Sher Ali Gorchani will manage Mines and Minerals, Bilal Yasin will be Food Minister, Faisal Khokhar will take on Sports, and Bilal Akbar will oversee Transport.
Additionally, four more ministers will join the cabinet over the next four years, along with Special Assistants to the Prime Minister (SAPM) and Advisors. Parvez Rasheed will serve as the advisor for political and cultural affairs, while Rana Sanaullah will decide on his participation in the upcoming by-elections for either the National Assembly or the Provincial Assembly.
