Former cricketer and former head coach of the Indian cricket team, Ravi Shastri, has commended Pakistani cricket team captain Babar Azam as a shining example for young batsmen in the current generation.
During an interview with Cricinfo, Shastri remarked that Babar Azam has the ability to transform innings where players typically score between 30 and 40 runs into centuries.
When asked about his opinion on the outcome of the upcoming Asia Cup match between India and Pakistan scheduled for September 2, Shastri expressed his belief that the Indian team is the favored side. He emphasized that India boasts formidable talents like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, making it the strongest team since the 2011 World Cup-winning squad.
Shastri also noted that over the past seven to eight years, India has consistently been considered the favorite in matches against Pakistan. However, he acknowledged that in the last two years, under the leadership of Babar Azam, Pakistan has narrowed the gap between the two teams.
