In the Faizabad sit-in revision case before the Supreme Court, a significant development has arisen. The Intelligence Bureau (IB) has requested permission from the Supreme Court to withdraw their review petition. In a separate petition submitted to the Supreme Court, the IB explained that the hearing for the Faizabad protest revision is scheduled for September 28, and they do not wish to continue defending their revision petition; instead, they seek its withdrawal.
Meanwhile, Amanullah Kunrani, who is the lawyer representing petitioner Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, has also requested a postponement of the case. Notably, Advocate Amanullah Kunrani has assumed the role of Caretaker Law Minister in Balochistan.
In the petition submitted by the Advocate on Record, it was clarified that Amanullah Kunrani cannot appear as Sheikh Rasheed’s legal counsel in the Supreme Court because the petitioner, Sheikh Rasheed, is currently incarcerated and cannot be reached for communication.
