The Lahore High Court is set to conduct a hearing on Salman Akram Raja’s plea challenging the Election Commission’s decision to categorize him as an independent candidate.
A two-member bench, led by Justice Ali Baqir Najafi, will oversee the proceedings, with the Election Commission and other relevant parties included in the case.
According to the petition, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has been officially recognized as a political party by the Election Commission since 1996. Salman Akram Raja, identified as a PTI-supported candidate from NA-128, is urging the court to overturn the Election Commission’s ruling, declare him as a PTI candidate, and instruct the inclusion of his name on the ballot paper.
