In Islamabad, the District and Sessions Courts have approved bail for former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, ordering his release.
The bail, set at one lakh rupees, was granted by Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah concerning a case involving the use of a diplomatic passport.
Sardar Tanveer Ilyas’ legal counsel argued that since the maximum penalty for the alleged offense is three years, bail should be granted, especially as the passport has already been returned.
Despite the opposition from the FIA prosecutor during the hearing, the court reviewed records presented by FIA officials.
