Sher Afzal Marwat, the Senior Vice President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, was detained by police in Lahore under the 3rd Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) from GPO Chowk near the Lahore High Court. He was subsequently taken to Mazang police station.

During a press conference at Lahore High Court, Marwat emphasized the need for Pakistani citizens to consider their fate and stand up for their rights. He highlighted PTI Chairman’s dedication to fighting for these rights and willingness to make sacrifices for the future generations. Marwat expressed gratitude for the support received from people, mentioning the unity required within the legal community. He acknowledged the risks they face, underscoring the significance of their sacrifices for the nation’s welfare.

Marwat noted his bail status in various cases, claiming to comprehend the strategies being employed against him. He hinted at significant figures from Punjab potentially joining PTI, hinting at forthcoming surprises. He alleged ongoing election rigging for the past six months, citing the May 9 incident as a pivotal moment in this manipulation. He contrasted the means of arrival at a convention, juxtaposing his arrival on motorcycles with Bilawal Bhutto’s arrival by helicopter, questioning the fairness of such discrepancies.
