In Lahore, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), emphasized the importance of national interest and urged all institutions to prioritize the well-being of the country.
He stressed that the key to overcoming the current state of despair and economic crisis lies in conducting new and transparent elections, as per the detailed decision of the Supreme Court.
During a media conversation, Qureshi mentioned that PTI has not yet been approached regarding the formation of a caretaker government, and they have significant reservations about the decision concerning the Chairman of PTI, which might be subject to suspension. However, he expressed confidence in the appeal process, hoping for a fair resolution.
Qureshi emphasized the need for united action and careful consideration of all political matters. He raised concerns about the delay in implementing the results of the census, which were released in May, and questioned whether this delay is part of a strategy to postpone the elections. Notably, the assemblies are set to be dissolved on the 9th.
