Peshawar: Shehryar Afridi, a PTI candidate, has filed a petition with the High Court challenging the allocation of the election symbol “bottle.”
Shehryar Afridi has named the Election Commission, District Returning Officer, and Returning Officer as respondents in the application. In his plea, Afridi contends that, as a former federal minister and ex-member, he should be given priority in the assignment of electoral symbols. The petition highlights that information obtained from social media indicates the allocation of the election symbol “bottle” before seeking the candidate’s opinion. Despite repeated attempts to contact the returning officer, no response has been received.
