Senior Information Minister of Sindh, Sharjeel Inam Memon, stated that Pakistan experienced a significant division in 1971, and now Imran Khan is exploiting this for political gain. He urged the nation to be aware of the true situation.
During a press conference in Karachi, Memon highlighted the importance of the day in Pakistan’s history, marking the anniversary of the nuclear tests. He emphasized that these tests demonstrated Pakistan’s strength as a nuclear power. He credited Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto as the founder of the country’s nuclear technology, noting that Bhutto and his family paid a heavy price for this achievement.
Memon claimed that there is a deliberate conspiracy involving a person who, despite being in jail, is conducting interviews, publishing articles, forming governments, issuing tickets, and managing social media activities. He accused this individual of spreading misleading information, including a video on Twitter praising Mujibur Rehman as a national hero.
Memon argued that the events of 1971 are being politicized, and Imran Khan’s actions are a threat not just to political parties or organizations but to Pakistan itself. He criticized Khan for distorting historical facts, particularly regarding the tragic loss of lives in the fall of Dhaka, and for attempting to mislead the younger generation with manipulated videos.
He further accused Imran Khan of ingratitude and damaging the reputation of the military, especially after losing power. Memon called on the nation to recognize the true nature of Imran Khan’s actions and to be vigilant.
