Shaukat Mirziyoyev re-elected president of Uzbekistan

The President of Uzbekistan, Shaukat Mirz Yuev, was once again elected as the President and after the constitutional amendment, this time the term of the President has been increased to 7 years. 

According to the international news organization, the presidential election was held in Uzbekistan yesterday, the results of which were announced today.

In the inconclusive results released by the Election Commission, President Shaukat Mirziyoyev has 87. He won by getting 1% votes. He belongs to the Liberal Democratic Party.

65-year-old President Shaukat Mirziyoyev has been in office since 2016 and was previously the country’s prime minister from 2003 to 2016. 

In the meantime, he promoted foreign trade in Uzbekistan, ensured religious and political freedom. It should be remembered that a few months ago in Uzbekistan, the presidential term was increased from 5 years to 7 years by amending the constitution through a referendum.

Soon after, President Shaukat Mirziyoyev announced the presidential election and won the election easily as there was no strong opposition or political party in the country.
