The Faizabad Dharna Commission has issued a summons for former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Sources indicate that Shehbaz Sharif, summoned in his capacity as the former Chief Minister of Punjab, is scheduled to appear before the commission on January 3 to provide his statement.
The commission was established by the caretaker government last November to comply with the court’s decision regarding the Faizabad sit-in case in 2017, a protest organized by Tehreek-e-Labaik in Islamabad. Its primary aim is to identify and hold accountable those deemed responsible for the events during the sit-in.
