Former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar, well known by his stage moniker “Rawalpindi Express,” has distanced himself from the project that bears his name.
Akhtar stated on social media on Saturday that he has split up with the producers of his biography, citing a breach of the contract.
The rapid talker said on Twitter that, “very sorry,” he had decided to distance himself from the production of the movie “Rawalpindi Express” and its creators by cancelling the contract through his management and legal team.

The renowned cricketer also sent the movie’s producers a warning that if they kept making the movie, he would resort to legal action.
If filmmakers continue to produce biopics using his name or incidents from his life, he threatened to take severe legal action.
Umair Jaswal, a well-known musician and actor from Pakistan who was set to portray the character of “Shoaib Akhtar” in the biopic, withdrew from the endeavour earlier this month.
On January 5, 2023, he also announced on the microblogging website that he has “chosen to break away from the Shoaib Akhtar biographical project RAWALPINDI EXPRESS owing to artistic and personal reasons.” I shall no longer be connected to any news or media outlets covering this initiative.

The former Pakistani fast bowler acknowledged on July 25, 2022, that his life was the subject of the film “Rawalpindi Express.”
The former cricket player shared a motion poster for the movie on his now-deleted official Instagram and Twitter accounts.
He stated on Instagram that the movie was in the process of being made and will include some never-before-seen details from his life.
In his tweet, Akhtar noted that Q Film Production is the production company and Faraz Qaiser is directing the film. This is the first worldwide film on a Pakistani cricket player, according to Akhtar.
The movie on the world’s fastest bowler was slated for release in November of this year.
