The Superintendent of Adiala Jail in Islamabad has issued an unconditional apology to the Islamabad High Court for failing to meet with Imran Khan, the founder of the PTI party.
This apology comes in response to contempt of court petitions filed against the Superintendent for disregarding court orders to meet with Khan.
Despite submitting a written response to the contempt petitions, the court expressed dissatisfaction with the Superintendent’s explanation.
The Superintendent was questioned about not meeting with Khan’s lawyers, prompting Justice Taman Rifat Imtiaz to remark that the justification provided was inadequate.
The court has scheduled another hearing for further clarification, ordering a meeting of the petitioners – Allama Nasir Abbas, Shehryar Afridi, Shandana Gulzar, and Firdous Shamim Naqvi – on March 26th.
