
Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar says that the new law of the Supreme Court (Review of Judgments and Orders) Act 2023 will not benefit Nawaz Sharif.
Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar while talking to a private TV channel said that the Supreme Court Review of Judgments and Orders law is not for a single person, it is not related to the case of Nawaz Sharif.
He said that Nawaz Sharif will benefit from the Practice and Procedure Act, but the Supreme Court has issued a restraining order on it. The Supreme Court (Review of Judgments and Orders) Act 2023 Bill was passed by the National Assembly on April 14 and by the Senate on May 5.
The Supreme Court Judgments Revision and Orders Act 2023 was introduced as a private bill by MLA Shaza Fatima. The President of the State surprisingly signed the bill, under the Act the Supreme Court will be able to file appeals on decisions of automatic notice cases.
In a revisional appeal, a party has the right to counsel of his own choice An appeal against the decision can be made within 60 days of the approval of the bill. The number of judges in the revision bench will be more than the judges present in the judgment bench.
The revision bench set up for appeal against the decision will be larger than the judgment bench. The judges who gave the judgment will not be part of the revision bench.
