The Supreme Court, led by Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, has mandated a re-election in Balochistan’s PB-50 constituency, Qila Abdullah.
Following a hearing of the application by a 3-member bench, the court directed the re-election with the consent of all involved parties, including the Election Commission.
The Court nullified the Election Commission’s decision to re-vote at only six polling stations, insisting that re-polling should occur in the entire constituency according to legal provisions.
Zamard Khan of the ANP contested the Election Commission’s ruling, arguing that voter turnout was suspiciously high in several polling stations without any re-voting being ordered there.
