As concerns about security escalated, Sweden and Denmark have been contemplating measures to address incidents of religious book desecration.
The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs acknowledged that protests in response to the desecration of the Holy Quran could take an extreme turn.
Consequently, the government is seeking a legal solution that upholds freedom of expression while also respecting other countries’ cultures and beliefs.
The Swedish Prime Minister is actively communicating with his Danish counterpart to find a resolution to the issue. Meanwhile, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has convened a meeting today at the request of Saudi Arabia and Iraq to address the matter of the Holy Quran’s desecration.
