Israel has declared the restart of attacks on Gaza following the conclusion of a brief ceasefire with Hamas. Reports from a foreign news agency indicate that Israel accused Hamas of violating the ceasefire agreement, prompting the decision to resume attacks on Gaza.
Brokered by Qatar and Egypt, a temporary ceasefire agreement had been established between Israel and Hamas in Gaza on November 24. Throughout the one-week ceasefire, Hamas released over 100 prisoners, while Israel freed 240 Palestinians. Since October 7, Israeli attacks on Gaza have resulted in the loss of more than 15,000 Palestinian lives.
The United States has affirmed its unwavering support for Israel’s actions in Gaza and intends to continue backing these efforts.
