Lahore: ACC has rejected the statement of possible chairman PCB on hybrid model. While addressing a media conference in Islamabad on Wednesday, prospective chairman PCB Zaka Ashraf said that he had already rejected the hybrid model for the Asia Cup.
If the Asian Cricket Council hosted Pakistan, the entire event should have been held here. The matches of teams like Nepal will be out of Pakistan other important matches, the hybrid model is unfair to Pakistan.
Now, according to Indian media reports, the Asian Cricket Council has given a strong reaction to Zaka Ashraf’s statement.
A member of the board said that Zaka Ashraf is free, he can say whatever he wants, but ACC has accepted the hybrid model for the Asia Cup. Done, there will be no change now.
Zaka Ashraf termed the hybrid model of the Asia Cup as “injustice”. It should be remembered that the Indian team had flatly refused to come to Pakistan to participate in the Asia Cup.
A hybrid model was proposed to the members, Pakistan will host 4 matches of the Asia Cup at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, the remaining 9 matches will be held in Sri Lanka. Najam Sethi called it a big success when the hybrid model was approved, but Zaka Ashraf is of the opinion that much better results could have been achieved while talking to the ACC.
Asia Cup is scheduled from August 31 to September 17, Pakistan. There was also anger expressed by the fans for having insignificant and low matches. While talking to the media in Islamabad in the last few days, Zaka Ashraf opposed the hybrid model.
Now the situation has been clarified. In a special conversation with the correspondent “Express”, he said that not liking the “hybrid model” was my personal opinion. We will fully abide by the commitment made by the previous management, the event will be as per the announced procedure.
To a question, he said that we want good relations with all cricketing countries, including India, but the decision to send the team for the World Cup to a neighboring country will be made after consultation.

To host international events, however, we will fully abide by the commitment made by the previous management regarding the Asia Cup, the event will be as per the announced procedure.
