
Lahore: The Anti-Narcotics Force has thwarted yet another endeavor to transport significant quantities of drugs using unmanned aerial vehicles (drones).
As per an ANF spokesperson, the nationwide campaign against drug-related activities remains ongoing. In this context, a major breakthrough has been accomplished in countering drug trafficking via drones. A member of a drug trafficking group was apprehended during this operation.
Authorities have reported the seizure of heroin and a drone from the arrested individual. Acting on a tip-off, a vehicle was intercepted near DHA Lahore. The driver of the vehicle attempted to escape rather than stopping, leading to a pursuit that ended with the vehicle crashing onto the footpath.
The detained individual, identified as Fayaz Hussain and hailing from Lahore, was apprehended at the scene. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of 10 kg of heroin and a drone. Additionally, a one-kilogram packet of heroin was affixed to the drone. The arrested person, who was also wanted in other cases, admitted to involvement in drug smuggling via drones during the course of the investigation.
The ANF spokesperson has conveyed that an in-depth inquiry into the detained individual is underway to apprehend other associates involved in the drug trafficking network utilizing drones.
