Rawalpindi: The Kwattak Jail administration has reported that former Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan is unable to attend court proceedings. As per News, the Attock Jail administration has formally requested an exemption for Imran Khan from appearing in court due to logistical challenges.
The jail authorities have justified their request by highlighting that the trial is currently being conducted within the confines of the jail premises, and transferring Imran Khan to another location could pose security risks.
It is worth noting that Chairman PTI, facing charges under the Counter Terrorism Act, is scheduled to make a court appearance before Senior Civil Judge Qudratullah in Islamabad on September 25.
In the meantime, police sources have disclosed that preparations are underway to facilitate the former prime minister’s court appearance. This includes providing the Attock Jail with details of the Islamabad Police Security Officer and the list of police personnel who will be present in court during Imran Khan’s appearance.
According to these police sources, the Ministry of Interior has been informed about the proposed measures for transporting Imran Khan to court. Furthermore, the Attock Jail administration will receive information regarding the vehicle numbers of the Islamabad Police.
The police sources have emphasized their readiness to promptly implement the necessary procedures once they receive final instructions for ensuring PTI chairman’s appearance in court.
