The caretaker and incoming government will be bound to implement the agreement with the IMF, Prime Minister

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan will fully implement the IMF agreement, the caretaker government and the elected government after the election will be bound to implement this agreement. 

These views were expressed by Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif during the third meeting of the International Partner Support Group.

In the meeting, Federal Ministers Ishaq Dar, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Sherry Rehman, Minister of State Hina Rabbani Khar, Special Assistants Tariq Fatemi, Tariq Bajwa, The meeting was attended by ambassadors and representatives of UNDP World Bank, European Union, ADB, IMF, USAID, USA, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, China, Arab Emirates and other countries.

In Pakistan, progress on flood recovery was reviewed. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the important role of IPSG in enhancing cooperation. 

The Prime Minister also appreciated IPSG’s key role in climate resilience projects. Among the pledges made during the Pakistan Conference for various projects, it was estimated to receive 657.5 million dollars till June 30, 2023, while 715 million dollars were received from donors and friendly countries for these projects. 

The meeting was told that in the current fiscal year, 913.5 million dollars will be spent on construction and rehabilitation projects in flood-affected areas under donor support.
