In Islamabad, there has been a public display of disagreements within the legal team of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Advocate Sher Afzal Marwat took to a social networking site to openly criticize Advocate Shoaib Shaheen, labeling him as the sole betrayer within the party’s legal team.
Sher Afzal Marwat, in a statement, accused Shoaib Shaheen of being a traitor to the PTI’s legal team, highlighting that he had previously posted a tweet denouncing the traitors within the team. However, he had removed the tweet following advice from senior members of the core committee. Sher Afzal Marwat asserted his intention to meet with the PTI Chairman on Thursday to discuss his tweet, emphasizing that it would upset several wrongdoers and agents.
In response, Shoaib Shaheen addressed Sher Afzal Marwat’s allegations in an interview with Express News. He clarified that during a social media conversation, he had stated in the Supreme Court that anyone causing division within the party cannot genuinely belong to PTI. Shoaib Shaheen provided this as his response when questioned about Sher Afzal Marwat in court.
Shoaib Shaheen further explained that he is one of the five spokespersons nominated by the party, and his stance represents PTI’s official position. He emphasized that Sher Afzal’s allegations are his personal opinions and do not reflect the party’s standpoint.
The PTI spokesperson officially disavowed Sher Afzal Marwat Advocate’s tweet, asserting that the legal team of Tehreek-e-Insaf has worked diligently and tirelessly to handle cases involving Chairman Imran Khan, party leaders, and members, even under challenging circumstances. Shoaib Shaheen Advocate was acknowledged as a highly respected member of PTI’s legal team, and the party expressed appreciation for the contributions of all its legal team members, including Shoaib Shaheen.
