
The final list of constituencies for the upcoming general elections has been unveiled by the Election Commission, completed through a digital census.
In the National Assembly, there will be a total of 266 general seats: Punjab with 141 seats, Sindh with 51, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) with 45, Balochistan with 16, and 3 seats allocated for the federal capital, Islamabad.
The breakdown for the provincial assemblies is as follows: Punjab Assembly with 297 general seats, Sindh Assembly with 130, KPK Assembly with 115, and Balochistan Assembly with 51.
In these new constituencies, there have been alterations in the Sindh National Assembly seats. Sanghar National Assembly seats have decreased from 3 to 2, while the National Assembly seats in Karachi South have increased from 2 to 3.
The Election Commission’s notification highlights the reduction of one seat each in the provincial assemblies of Khairpur, Sangar, and Thatta. Khairpur’s provincial assembly seats decreased from 7 to 6, Sanghar’s from 6 to 5, and Thatta’s from 3 to 2.
Conversely, Malir, Karachi East, and Karachi Central Provincial Assembly seats have seen an increase. Malir’s seats increased from 5 to 6, Karachi East from 8 to 9, and Karachi Central from 8 to 9 as well.
