In Islamabad, the Pakistan Election Commission has not yet issued a verdict regarding the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) intra-party election case.

This case was examined by a four-member commission, led by Election Commission member Sindh, Nisar Durrani. During the proceedings, Barrister Gohar represented PTI and informed the commission that Ali Zafar’s involvement in the High Court had hindered their ability to reach a decision. Ali Zafar is expected to present arguments personally in front of the Election Commission. Member Sindh Nisar Durrani postponed the hearing to await this development.

Subsequently, the Election Commission decided to withhold its judgment on the PTI intra-party election case. Member Sindh Nisar Durrani stated that PTI had been given ample opportunities for legal arguments, but their counsel failed to appear for today’s session. Despite the COVID-19 situation, PTI had been granted a one-year extension to conduct intra-party elections. The Election Commission declined PTI’s counsel’s request for additional time to present arguments and opted to reserve its decision on the PTI intra-party election case.
