The four members of Election Commission expressed confidence in Chief Election Commissioner.

The Election Commission’s four members have voiced their steadfast support for Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja. Their joint statement emphasizes the Commission’s unified decision-making process, adhering to legal protocols and thorough consultation among members. They affirm their resolute confidence in Chief Election Commissioner Raja.

Furthermore, they assure that every decision taken thus far has been the result of collaborative discussions. The allocation of district seats was determined in accordance with legal requirements and mutual consent within the Commission. The process involved preliminary work by constituency committees, subsequent deliberations on filed objections, and harmonious resolutions, notably exemplified in the case of Hafizabad district, where a 5-member bench concurred on decisions.

However, it’s worth noting that the Pakistan Bar Council, Supreme Court Bar, and Sindh High Court Bar have raised concerns regarding the constituencies, expressing a lack of confidence in Chief Election Commissioner Raja. Specifically, the Pakistan Bar Council highlights the reduction of seats in the National Assembly from Hafizabad district, which they view as a deliberate alteration of constituencies.
