The government cut electricity to people in the dark of night, the electricity cost 7.5 rupees per unit

Islamabad: The federal government has increased the cost of electricity by 7 rupees 50 paise per unit. The basic electricity tariff has been increased by 3 to 7 rupees 50 paise per unit. 

The cabinet has approved the summary of increasing the cost of electricity through circulation. According to sources, the federal government has filed a request for increase in the basic price in Nepra.

Nepra will now give a decision after hearing the request of the federal government. After which the federal government will issue a notification for the increase. The price hike is proposed to be implemented from July 1.
