Speaking at the Iftar dinner hosted at the Foreign Office on behalf of Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, he highlighted the significance of Ramadan as a month of blessings and reflection of cultural values, fostering inter-faith harmony. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to providing full freedom for all minorities to practice their religious beliefs.
Additionally, Prime Minister Sharif expressed solidarity with the Palestinian and Kashmiri communities in their ongoing struggles against oppression, particularly highlighting Pakistan’s support for the UN Security Council resolution on the ceasefire in Gaza.
Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar echoed these sentiments, praising efforts to foster dialogue and cooperation with other nations, particularly during Ramadan, a month of religious and social significance for Muslims worldwide. He underscored Pakistan’s foreign policy principles of peace, equality, and justice, advocating for multilateralism, development, and mutual prosperity. Pakistan seeks support for a non-permanent seat in the Security Council to advance these goals.
Moreover, Dar stressed the importance of resolving regional conflicts, including Palestine and Kashmir, through UN Security Council engagement. He emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to combating terrorism globally, citing Quranic teachings on the sanctity of life and the imperative for peace. Dar emphasized the need for dialogue and understanding among nations to achieve lasting peace and reiterated Pakistan’s readiness to foster partnerships in this endeavor.
