Prior to the highly anticipated Asia Cup match between arch-rivals Pakistan and India, cricket enthusiasts received some positive news.
Local media outlets reported a shift in weather conditions leading up to the crucial game. Approximately two hours before the match, Kandy experienced light rain, but the likelihood of rain during the Pakistan-India match had diminished.
Reports indicated that the toss might face a delay due to the outfield becoming wet due to the earlier rain. Earlier, concerns loomed over today’s major match scheduled at Pali Kale Stadium, as the meteorological department had predicted a 70% chance of rain the previous day. However, the latest forecast reduced the expected rain during the match to just one hour.
According to the most recent weather update, there is a 40 to 60 percent chance of rain between 2 and 3 p.m., with the chances dropping to less than 20 percent after 3:30 p.m. Meanwhile, the national team has revealed its playing eleven for the India-Pakistan encounter. In addition to captain Babar Azam, the squad includes Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Salman Ali Agha, Muhammad Rizwan as the wicketkeeper, Muhammad Nawaz, Shadab Khan, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Haris Rauf.
It’s important to note that the Pakistan-India match is scheduled to commence at 2:30 PM today at Pali Kale Stadium in Kandy.
