The Interior Minister has issued a directive to intensify efforts against drug gangs.

In Islamabad, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has instructed the Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad Police and the entire team to enhance public order and crackdown on criminal activities. During a significant meeting chaired by Minister Naqvi, IG Ali Nasir Rizvi provided a comprehensive overview of the law and order situation.

Minister Naqvi emphasized a robust crackdown on gangs involved in drug trafficking, particularly prohibiting the sale of narcotics like ice near educational institutions. He stressed that stringent measures will be taken against drug dealers. Additionally, Minister Naqvi called for effective action against beggar networks and ensured the safety of foreign nationals.

Highlighting the importance of FIR registration, Minister Naqvi mandated a 100% registration rate, warning of consequences for any delays or refusals. He emphasized the immediate resolution of promotion cases within the Islamabad Police and urged the fulfillment of all vacant positions. Furthermore, Minister Naqvi pledged to align Islamabad Police salaries with those of the Punjab Police.
