The Islamabad High Court has issued a directive to remove the name of former Federal Minister for Human Rights, Shireen Mazari, from the Exit Control List (ECL).
Justice Thaman Rifat Imtiaz presided over the case, where Shireen Mazari, accompanied by her legal counsel, appeared before the court. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Prosecutor, Rafi Maqsood, stated that in March, they had recommended the removal of Shireen Mazari’s name from the ECL as she was not implicated in the £190 million NAB case.
The Assistant Attorney General mentioned that they had also formally notified the Prime Minister via a letter on March 27. Justice Thaman Rifat Imtiaz acknowledged the workload of the cabinet and assured that the court would handle its responsibilities. Consequently, the court concluded the matter by instructing the removal of Shireen Mazari’s name from the ECL.
