The Islamabad High Court issued notices to concerned parties regarding the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) request for permission to hold a rally in the federal capital.
The court sought their responses in a session presided over by Chief Justice Amir Farooq. PTI’s lawyer, Sher Afzal, represented the party in court. During the hearing, Afzal Marwat highlighted security threats cited by the Islamabad Inspector General (IG) as reasons for concern.
Chief Justice Amir Farooq indicated that all available options would be considered in the next session. Previously, the High Court had instructed the Deputy Commissioner (DC) to make a decision on PTI’s request. However, citing security concerns and inadequate police presence, the DC Islamabad rejected the request. The court postponed further proceedings until the following day.
