In a recent development, the Lahore High Court has issued an order for the release of former Chief Minister of Punjab, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi,
Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, the former CM of Punjab, had been brought before the court in connection with the Assets Beyond Means case. The proceedings were presided over by Justice Amjad Rafiq at the Lahore High Court (LHC), and he has now given the directive for the release of Chaudhry Pervez Elahi.
This legal action stems from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arresting Elahi due to his alleged failure to provide information to the accountability bureau in relation to the assets beyond the means case. This case also involves his son, Monis Elahi, and other members of their family.
NAB sources have disclosed that they have initiated an inquiry into the excessive assets case concerning Monis Elahi as well.
To facilitate these legal proceedings, a team from NAB’s Lahore chapter transported former CM Pervaiz Elahi from Adiala Jail to appear before the session court in Rawalpindi for transit remand.
