The Meteorological Department has forecasted a 70% chance of rainfall before the scheduled clash between arch-rivals Pakistan and India on September 2 in the Asia Cup.
As per the British Meteorological Department’s (BBC) weather prediction, Kandy is expected to experience over 70% rainfall this week, with a surprising estimate of 102.55 mm of precipitation.
The traditional rivals, Pakistan and India, are set to face off in Kandy on Saturday. However, there is a looming possibility that rain may disrupt the match and even cancel the practice sessions.
During the match between the two teams, the temperature is anticipated to range from 20 to 24 degrees Celsius.
In the event of a rain-induced cancellation, India could secure a spot in the top four by defeating Nepal, setting the stage for another encounter between the two teams.
It’s important to note that Pakistan, India, and Nepal comprise Group A, while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan make up Group B in the Asia Cup.
