The petition concerning assembly resignations of PTI members has been deemed ineffective.

Yasmin Abbasi Contempt of Court Case; Constitutional Bench Gives Time to Federal Ombudsman to Respond

Islamabad: The Supreme Court has ruled as ineffective a petition concerning the resignations of assembly members from Tehreek-e-Insaf.

As reported by Express News, back in 2014, Shahid Orakzai had lodged a petition with the Supreme Court seeking approval for the resignations of Tehreek-e-Insaf’s assembly members.

During the court proceedings, the attorney argued that since the term of the 2013 assembly had concluded, the resignation petition had lost its validity. In response, a two-member bench led by Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial dismissed the application as lacking effect.
