The Lahore High Court has dismissed a plea seeking the removal of Nawaz Sharif’s photo from ration bags, which was distributed by the Punjab government.
The petition, presented by lawyer Azhar Siddique, argued that the use of public funds for personal promotion is unacceptable and distributing flour in bags featuring Nawaz Sharif’s image undermines citizens’ dignity.
The court has issued a notice to the Punjab government and requested their response. The plea urged the court to halt the distribution of bags with Nawaz Sharif’s photo and instead ensure financial support is directly provided to citizens’ homes.
