In Islamabad, President Dr. Arif Alvi has recommended to the Election Commission that the general elections be scheduled for November 6. As per Express News, President Dr. Arif Alvi has communicated this proposed date in a letter addressed to Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja.
The President stated that he dissolved the National Assembly on August 9, following the Prime Minister’s advice. He invoked Clause Five of Article 48, which grants him the authority to choose a date within a 90-day period.
In the letter, the President has requested the Election Commission to take steps to approach the Supreme Court for matters related to the elections.
