In Islamabad, the interim government has implemented a significant price hike for petrol, raising it by more than 26 rupees per liter.
As per an official notification from the Ministry of Finance, these revised prices will remain in effect for the next fifteen days, starting from 12 pm until the end of September.
According to the notification, the per-liter price of petrol has been elevated by 26.2 rupees, while high-speed diesel’s price has surged by 17.34 rupees. Consequently, the new rates for petrol stand at 331.38 rupees per liter, and for diesel, it’s 329.18 rupees per liter after this recent adjustment. It’s worth noting that there have been no changes in the prices of light diesel and kerosene.
It’s worth highlighting that, under the caretaker government’s tenure, the cost of petrol has surged by 58.43 rupees, while high-speed diesel has increased by 55.78 rupees in just one month.
