Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif formed a high-level ministerial committee for the release of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, who was imprisoned in America.
Dr. Fawzia Siddiqui, sister of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, met with Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.
According to the official statement, in the meeting, Dr. Fawzia Siddiqui thanked the Prime Minister for the government’s support in the American visa to meet Aafia and said that by providing government support in obtaining the visa, you laid the foundation for the release of Dr. Aafia.
The Prime Minister said that we understand the agony of Dr. Aafia’s family and share their grief equally. Shahbaz Sharif directed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should provide full assistance to Dr. Fawzia in obtaining a visa for the next meeting with Dr. Aafia.
To organize and intensify government efforts for Dr. Fawzia expressed special gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the government’s efforts to release Aafia. It should be noted that this was the second meeting of Fauzia Siddiqui with the Prime Minister in the last three months.
