The Prime Minister is angry about the rise in gas prices and demands an audit report.

The Prime Minister of Islamabad has expressed dissatisfaction regarding the recent surge in gas prices and has called for an audit report.

As per reports, Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has instructed the Ministry of Energy to accomplish 16 tasks within the span of one to three months. Specifically, he has mandated the submission of a forensic audit report concerning the recent gas price hike within a month.

In addition to this, Shahbaz Sharif has displayed frustration over the gas price escalation and has opted to scrutinize the performance of OGRA (Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority) and gas companies. He has requested a comprehensive report regarding gas infrastructure, gas theft, and the underperformance of the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project within three months. Furthermore, he has directed the immediate establishment of an inter-ministerial commission for monitoring purposes.

Moreover, the Prime Minister has called for a plan to develop new industrial zones for leveraging surplus electricity within a month’s time frame. Additionally, he has tasked the Power and Petroleum Division with devising a revolving credit solution within two weeks.
