The Lahore High Court saw a challenge to the ban on court reporting initiated by PEMRA. Samra Malik Advocate filed a petition against PEMRA’s decision, naming PEMRA, the Federal Government, and the Information Secretary separately.
The petition contends that PEMRA’s May 21 notification is unlawful, breaching Article 19 and 19A of the Constitution. It urges the court to invalidate PEMRA’s notification and temporarily suspend it until a final decision is reached on the petition.
