In Lahore, the Punjab government has temporarily removed the smog-related restrictions that were previously in place across various districts. Caretaker Information Minister Punjab Aamir Mir, addressing the media after a meeting, stated that markets, bazaars, and restaurants will resume regular operations on Saturday and Sunday.
He also mentioned that educational institutions can resume teaching activities once the smog situation shows signs of improvement. Winter vacation for schools is scheduled to commence from December 18, with a reassessment of the smog conditions planned for next week.
However, the plans for artificial rain to alleviate the smog in Lahore have faced a delay as the Punjab government has not yet arranged for the necessary plane required for the artificial rain project.
