Islamabad: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf party has presented its response in the case involving its intra-party election.
A commission consisting of four members, led by Nisar Durrani, within the Election Commission, deliberated on the PTI intra-party election case. Barrister Gauhar, the Chief Election Commissioner of PTI, appeared before the Election Commission and stated that the response to PTI’s intra-party elections has been submitted.
Barrister Gauhar informed the Election Commission that all relevant details have been clarified in the comprehensive reply. Nisar Durrani, a member of the Election Commission, inquired whether Barrister Gauhar intended to present arguments today based on the provided response. In response, Barrister Gauhar requested a two-week extension from the Election Commission to prepare his arguments.
The Election Commission granted Barrister Gauhar’s request for a two-week extension to present his arguments. Nisar Durrani, the commission member, remarked that the case cannot be prolonged indefinitely. As the upcoming general elections are approaching, the Election Commission has already allocated electoral symbols to most political parties. Once the argument phase concludes, a decision regarding the allocation of electoral symbols to PTI will be made.
Subsequently, the Election Commission adjourned the hearing of the PTI intra-party election case until September 13th.
