Islamabad: The petition filed in the Supreme Court for the restoration of the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assemblies has been returned with objections.

Registrar Supreme Court returned the request for restoration of assembly of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with objections. In the objections raised by the Registrar’s Office, it has been said that the Prime Minister, the President of the State, the Chief Ministers cannot be made a party under Article 248.

Public interest or fundamental rights were not identified in the petition, the Supreme Court was approached directly instead of the relevant forum.

The Registrar objected that the points raised by the petitioner were not satisfactory. It should be noted that the petitioner Nasir Mehmood had filed a petition for restoration of both the assemblies in the Supreme Court.
