The United Arab Emirates has halted diplomatic relations with Israel following the tragic killing of seven charity workers in Gaza.

According to reports from international media, Emirati Ambassador to Israel Muhammad Al-Khawaja issued a statement denouncing the incident as a dark day.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs reached out to Israeli Ambassador Amir Hayek to convey their dismay over the loss of the aid workers’ lives.

The incident occurred on April 2 during Israeli airstrikes in central Gaza, targeting aid workers from the NGO World Central Kitchen (WCK). The European Union has called for an investigation into the attack, while several countries, including Australia and Spain, have condemned it.
