The United Nations has announced honors for the martyrs of Pakistan, a ceremony was held in the General Assembly on the 75th anniversary of the UN peacekeeping mission.
The ceremony was presided over by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, 8 Pakistani martyrs who died during the peace mission were honored, Ambassador Muhammad Amir Khan and Colonel Raja Afzal Ahmed received martyrs’ medals.
Among the martyrs, Lieutenant Colonel Asif Ali Awan, Major Faizan Ali, Major Muhammad Saad Naumani, Deputy Subedar Samiullah, Havaldar Muhammad Ismail, Lance Havaldar Muhammad Jameel Khan, Hawaldar Babar Siddique and Naik Rana Muhammad Tahir Islam were martyred while performing their duties.
