The Election Commission has announced that there will be no modifications to the voter lists, and the upcoming general elections will utilize the existing voter rolls.
Express News has acquired data on registered voters in Punjab, revealing that the total number of registered voters in the province now stands at 72,310,582. This marks an increase of 11,637,811 voters compared to the figures from 2018.
According to official documents, Punjab currently has 38,720,067 registered male voters and 35,990,515 registered female voters. In comparison to 2018, the number of female voters in Punjab has seen a significant rise of 6,598,141, while male voters have increased by 5,039,670.
Lahore district boasts the highest voter count among the 41 districts in Punjab, with a total of 6,724,633 registered voters. Lahore’s overall population is 12,089,387, with 3,578,725 male voters and 3,145,908 female voters.
On the other end of the spectrum, Murree district has the lowest voter count in the province, with a total of 290,931 registered voters.
The Election Commission spokesperson has confirmed that the voter lists will remain unchanged for future elections, with no modifications permitted.
