The Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court has indicated that a decision might be reached today regarding the plea to suspend the sentence of Imran Khan.
A bench led by Chief Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri conducted a hearing at the Islamabad High Court on the suspension of the sentence request filed by Chairman of PTI, Imran Khan. Present at the court were Imran Khan’s lawyer, Latif Khosa, and the Election Commission’s lawyer, Amjad Pervez advocate.
Latif Khosa urged for directives to be issued regarding the meeting request. Responding, Chief Justice Amir Farooq of the Islamabad High Court expressed optimism about reaching a decision on the suspension of the sentence request today. Amjad Pervez, the Election Commission’s lawyer, argued that the public prosecutor should also be informed beforehand in this matter. To this, Chief Justice noted that the Election Commission had initiated the complaint, not the state, and remarked that this was the first instance of such a statement being made today.
