ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan Tribunal is set to announce the verdict on the case concerning the tribunal change today.
According to News, the Election Commission will issue its decision on the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) request to change the Election Tribunal today at 3 PM.
The Election Commission had previously reserved its decision on the tribunal change case last Friday.
Additionally, the Election Commission reserved its decision after hearing arguments regarding the Tribunal Change case.
Legislature MNAs from Islamabad had submitted an application to the Election Commission requesting a change in the Election Tribunal. The decision was reserved last Friday after a two-day hearing of arguments from PML-N and PTI-backed candidates.
Three Legislature MNAs, including Tariq Fazal Chaudhry from Islamabad, expressed a lack of confidence in Election Tribunal Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri. Lawyers for PTI-backed candidates Shoaib Shaheen, Amir Mughal, and Ali Bukhari argued for the rejection of the PML-N leaders’ pleas. During the last hearing, Faisal Chaudhry stated that the Election Commission does not have the authority to change or review the tribunal.
