Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan lashed out at Sweden for desecrating the Holy Quran and said that he will continue to oppose Sweden’s joining NATO.
According to a foreign news agency, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has described the desecration of the Holy Quran as part of a hate campaign against Islam and clarified that Turkey will maintain its opposition to Sweden’s accession to NATO.
He said that the desecration of the Holy Quran is not freedom of speech but a systematic hate campaign against Islam which started with the attack on the mosque in Christchurch.
On the other hand, the Swedish police rejected requests for protests against the Holy Quran, while the courts rejected the decision saying that these protests violated freedom of expression.
