Two coaches of Allama Iqbal Express, traveling from Karachi to Sialkot, derailed between Padaidan and Bharyarod stations. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported among the passengers.
The affected train has been safely parked at Padaidan railway station after the affected bogies were separated. However, due to the accident, the up track remained blocked for seven hours, while the down track has been restored.
Railway DS Sukkur stated that a relief train promptly arrived from Sukkur to the accident site, and repair work is already underway. They expect to restore the train service within an hour. Meanwhile, as a precaution, other passenger trains have been temporarily stopped at various railway stations.
